On December 3, 2014, the Five Colleges of Ohio and Allegheny College, were awarded a three year $280,000 grant from the Teagle Foundation. These six colleges are engaged in a comprehensive initiative directed towards enhancing faculty planning and curricular coherence. The institutions improved coherence both by offering structured ways for students to complete general-education requirements and by instituting forms of support that help students intentionally create coherent understandings of their educational experiences.
