CONSORT CIRCULATION POLICIES

Below are some highlights of the evolution of circulation policies for the four CONSORT member libraries. Please check with your local Circulation, Reserves, and AV Departments for local variations.

CONSORT

  • Direct borrowing of circulating library materials among CONSORT member libraries instituted 1995.
    • Current students, faculty, and staff eligible to borrow.
    • Loan period 3 weeks with two renewals.
    • No maximum number of items.
  • Direct borrowing of circulating videos among CONSORT member libraries instituted 2001.
    • Current students, faculty, and staff eligible to borrow
  • Extended loan periods of CONSORT materials for CONSORT faculty instituted January 2002.
    • Service restricted to faculty and staff
    • Items may be borrowed for 1 semester, renewable for an additional semester.
  • Placing material from other CONSORT libraries on Reserve at local institution instituted May 2003 after successfull one semester experiment, spring semester 2003.

CONSTor Storage Facility

  • Direct borrowing of any material located in CONStor instituted 2001.
    • Includes books, sound recordings, bound journal volumes
    • Loan period is 3 weeks for students; 1 semester for faculty

OHIOLINK

  • Direct borrowing of circulating materials from OhioLINK member libraries instituted 1996
    • Current students, faculty, and staff eligible to borrow.
    • Loan period 3 weeks with one renewal.
    • Maximum 25 items per undergraduate student.
    • Overall patron fines of $10 blocks requests
  • Senior Honors and I.S. students maximum items raised to 200, December 2003.
