How to load MARC records for Docuseek2

Records are emailed on a quarterly basis.

New and Updated records:

  • Open the file in MarcEdit.

  • Go to Tools > Current Tasks > Docuseek2 - KEN

    • This will add a “1” to the beginning of the 001 field. It will add the proxy prefix to the link in the 856, remove the 856 $y, and add 856 $z field text. It will also add a 949 $l field for the Kenyon item record. (***See full MarcEdit task details below)

  • Add a note to the 910 field using the current date

    • Tools > Add/Delete field

    • Field: 910

    • Field Data: $adocuseek-ken-XXXXXXXX  (e.g. $adocuseek-ken-20181024)

  • In Sierra, go to Data Exchange

  • Select Process = Load records via locally created load profiles (local)

  • Click Get PC

    • Browse desktop to select the MARC file

    • Upload

    • When prompted to rename, remove the .mrc extension and select the .lfts extension from the dropdown menu

    • Click OK

      • L|| |7|1|b| |29|n|N|0|bib lvl

      • L|| |6|2|b| |30|n|N|0|%map=("m2bmap.streaming")

      • #|||0|0| | |0|n|G|0|@link="i:1:949"
